NATIONAL APOLOGY P.M. Julia Gillard 21/3/2013

Although this National Apology  ( and State Apologies ) have been given to Mothers and their families effected by past policies and practises of forced separations, nothing else has been pursued in regards to the obvious crimes against the women who had their son or daughter removed from them against their will in the labour wards of Victorian Maternity Hospitals 1950’s-1970’s. These violent abuses carried out on young women by medical staff have not been addressed in the way that any Law abiding citizen would expect.

Instead there has been a slow intentional National campaign to dis empower the truth exposed by eye witness reports and presented in the Senate Report. This intentional re run of past rhetoric is seemingly to protect the Doctors and Hospital Staff particularly in Victoria, from accountability and also to protect their reputations.

This obvious disregard for the LAW by our authorised representatives is very worrying. It has led our mothers to believe that we are being treated as second class citizens and that those who committed these crimes against us are regarded as more important than the MOTHERS who have been brutalised exploited and condemned wrongly by the actions while in the care of supposedly trusted medical people in public hospitals.

As this is a common experience for other countries too, as in Ireland, women need to move to an International arena and call for accountability from a system that has degraded women and in particular THE MOTHERS

Our Vision

To engage with the community, service providers and governments to promote and enhance education on validation of our motherhood – late 1950’s – early 1970’s - new modern medical outlook policies relating to young unmarried pregnant girls introduced in Victoria May 1958.
